How the Ingebrigtsen Case Will Unfold

Jakob Asserson Ingebrigtsen (24) will testify for one and a half days when the trial against his father, Gjert Ingebrigtsen (59), begins next month. His younger sister, Ingrid, will also take the stand.

According to the trial schedule, Gjert Ingebrigtsen will testify for three full days after his children. He may have his own children in the audience.

“Jakob and Ingrid will be present for several weeks,” says defense attorney Mette Yvonne Larsen to VG.

The trial, set to start on March 24 and last until May 16, will see all seven siblings called as witnesses. Other key witnesses include athletics officials Håvard Tjørhom and Erlend Slokvik.

Runners Narve Gilje Nordås and Per Svela, both still coached by Gjert, will testify on May 5. The day before, Linn T. Amundsen, the creator of the Tv-series, Team Ingebrigtsen, will give her statement.

Gjert Ingebrigtsen faces charges of abuse in close relationships but denies any wrongdoing.

As VG previously reported, the judge has rejected his request for a closed trial. Jakob and Ingrid argued for an open hearing and won.

Eighteen media outlets, including from England, Poland, Germany, and Denmark, have been accredited to cover the case.
