Nove Mesto BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup 13.03.2021 women 10km pursuit race preview

Here are the simulation results for today women’s pursuit race in Nove Mesto generated by our biathlon model.

The main favourite to win the race today is overall BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup leader Tiril Eckhoff. She won a sprint race on Thursday and will be starting first today. Also she already won a pursuit race in Nove Mesto during last weekend. Her chance to win today is 42% and chance to get on podium is 69%.

Italian Dorothea Wierer was very unlucky in similar pursuit a week ago. She made 9 misses during the race and finished on 34th position. Her chances for a gold medal today is sixteen percent and 45% for any medal.

Franziska Preuss from Germany will start 17 seconds behind the leader today. Our model estimates her chances to win as 13% and chances to climb the podium as 40%. She finished fifth in the similar pursuit last Sunday.

Marte Olsbu Roeiseland, overall BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup runner-up, will start with 47 seconds gap today. Her chances to win the race are predicted as nine percent and chances for any medal as 30%. Last weekend she got a bronze medal in similar pursuit race.

Fifth favourite is Austrian Lisa Theresa Hauser with five percent chance to win and 24% to stand on podium today.

The next row in the table shows that Denise Herrmann from Germany, who finished second in the pursuit last Sunday and second in sprint on Thursday, has 4% chance to win today and 17% to get any medal.

Dzinara Alimbekava from Belarus has three percent chance to win pursuit today and 14% for any medal.

Ukrainian Juliya Dzhyma was fifth in sprint on Thursday and our model predicts her 1% chance to win and nine percent chance for podium today.

Two Oeberg sisters from Sweden have 1% chance to win the pursuit, Hanna has 8% and Elvira 7% chance for any medal today.
