Nove Mesto BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup 06.03.2021 women 7.5km Sprint race preview

Our biathlon simulation predicts Norwegian athlete Tiril Eckhoff to win a race with a 13 percent chance and a 30 percent chance to win any medal.

She is doing really well this season and managed to win the gold medal in the sprint discipline at world championship 2021 in Pokljuka earlier this year.

Also, in the 2020-21 IBU Biathlon World Cup season simulation, Tiril Eckhoff is a clear favourite with a 65 percent chance to win in overall simulation, and with 58 percent chance to win in the sprint discipline.

Another Norwegian biathlete Marte Olsbu Røiseland is predicted, by our biathlon model, a winning chance of nine percent, 24 percent chance to win any medal and some four seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff.

She was a silver medalist in the sprint discipline at the 2018 Winter Olympics and she won sprint discipline at the world championship 2020 in Antholz.

Austrian biathlete Lisa Theresa Hauser has an eight percent chance to win a race, a 22 percent chance to climb on the podium and has projected some six seconds behind the winner, based on the simulation model.

Biathlete from Sweden, Hanna Oeberg, has a seven percent chance to win today’s race, a 20 percent chance to get any medal and some seven seconds behind the leader, according to biathlon simulation.

Her sister, Elvira Oeberg has three percent chance to win a race, ten percent chance to climb on the podium and some 24 seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff.

Franziska Preuss, a German biathlete, has the same, as her opponent from Sweden, seven percent chance to win a race, a 20 percent chance to win any medal and some eight seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff.

The next contender is from France – Anais Chevalier. She managed to finish second in the world championship 2021 in Pokljuka in the sprint discipline. Our biathlon model predicts her a winning chance of six percent, seventeen percent chance to win any medal and some fourteen seconds behind the winner.

One more French athlete with good prospects from today’s race is Julia Simon. Our simulation model predicts her to win a race with a five percent chance, a fourteen percent chance to get any medal and some eighteen seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff.

Our biathlon model predicts Dorothea Wierer, an Italian biathlete, to win a race with a five percent chance, a fourteen percent chance to climb on the podium and some 15 seconds behind the winner.

Her teammate Lisa Vittozzi has a one percent chance to win the sprint race, a four percent chance to get any medal and some 38 seconds behind the winner.

Biathlete from Norway, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, has a four percent chance to win a race, a 13 percent chance to get any medal and some 18 seconds behind the winner, according to the biathlon model.

Dzinara Alimbekava from Belarus has a three percent chance to win a race, a nine percent chance to win any medal, and some 26 seconds behind the winner.

Hanna Sola, also a Belarus biathlete managed to win a bronze medal in the sprint discipline in the world championship 2021 earlier this year. However, for today’s race, our biathlon model predicts her a winning chance of one percent, four percent chance to get any medal and some 52 seconds behind Tiril Eckhoff.
