Thiago Alcantara set for FC Bayern exit

As one of the most talented players of his generation, Thiago Alcantara has long been seen as a world class performer. The central midfielder has dominated games for both FC Barcelona and FC Bayern but looks set to move onto another club this summer. Having reportedly rejected a new contract at Bayern, the injury-hit midfielder could be looking to test himself in the English Premier League.

A move to England is being mooted, with both Manchester City and Liverpool heavily linked to the Spaniard. He’s won a whopping nine titles in ten seasons as a player and holds a trophy-laden CV that marks him out as one of the most prolific trophy winners of his generation. The only limit to Thiago has been fitness, with his game often curbed due to long-term injury layoffs.

Without doubt, though, he stands out as one of the most interesting players of the current era. A technically delightful midfielder with consistency and vision, he easily stands out as one of the most remarkable players to be available. With his Bayern contract set to run out in 2021, too, he could be available for a much cheaper price than a player of such standard might normally be available for.

It’s for this reason that it’s become likely that he could be moved on, as Bayern look to build a side who look to stick around for years to come. If Thiago has no intention of staying, we could see him move on in the near future.
